88 truck needs help
Hello everyone .. first time posting here, and I need some help. I have an 88 truck with z24i engine and 320k miles on it.
Coolant line under intake manifold burst, engine over-heated, and the truck died. I replaced coolant line, replaced cracked head, new plugs, cap, rotor and wires. Now when I try to run the truck, it runs terrible... bogs out when you give it gas, stalls and seems like it is getting intermittent spark, with blowback thru the throttle body.
Checked coils, wires, plugs, firing order...all are ok. With dist out and key 'on', rotated dist and heard clicking noise from relay on wheelwell, so crank angle sensor is ok?. Getting code 55 from computer. Double checked timing, compression and fuel, and all seem to be ok. From what I have read on here, should next place I look is O2 sensor?
Any suggestions would be greatly appricated. I know this is an old truck, and I should prob get a new one.. but I just love the damn thing and cant bring myself to give up on it yet.
Thanks in advance,
Mike
