my 1993 3 litre v-6 hardbody has about 150,000 miles on it. it's been well looked after and has had no major problems. how many more miles can i expect out of this engine?

Yes, depending on engine design and care (maintenance - regular oil & filter changes) you can get 300,000 miles or more from a gasoline engine.

It's not uncommon to go through 2 or more transmissions (or clutches) before the engine will wear out (again, assuming it's well cared for).

After 200K they generally need a rebuild to get them back to stock specs. That's about all. I've seen stock engines go over 400K before needing a rebuild, though.
