Replacement Engine for 88 z24

I am looking at a replacement engine from DiscountAutoparts $1500 for longblock.
What can I use as a replacement engine if I go to a junk yard?

Ouch, that's a really high price for a used 4-cylinder engine. Any KA24 from 1987-1995 Pathfinder, pickup, minivan or even a 240SX(maybe) should work, just swap the accessories from your old one onto the new one.

Note: check on http://www.car-part.com/ for a better price in your area, I find lots and lots of engines for $750 or less with 100K or so on them. The expensive ones are rebuilt or remanufactured.
