97 Path. Throttle Probs?

Check Engine light on for 3 days then goes out for 4 days. This pattern has continued for the last month.
Noticed that the gas pedal has a intermittent slight binding feeling when initially applying gas.
Sometimes it's smooth and other times it binds which requires more pressure to the pedal resulting in a jerking/surge type take-off!
Don't have an OBD reader.

Any Suggestions?

Thanks in advance for the assistance!

Can't tell you what the check engine light is unless you can get the codes, but the stick gas pedal is fixed by cleaning out your throttle body with throttle body cleaner spray. Search for some past posts on this.

Throttle Probs

I have had the same problems on my 97. Not to discourage you from trying, but carefully cleaning my throttle-body did not fix my problem. I just kind of got used to it....

Sometimes you just need to really hose out the throttlebody with cleaner to get all the junk out. Spray it out with the throttle butterfly open AND closed. Get the back side of the butterfly clean. That's where most of the deposits are. Also check the throttle linkage by hand. Is it sticking when you move it by hand? If not, is your cable sticking? Troubleshoot it down to one thing.

Ditto the previous post, it usually takes me an entire can and also a toothbrush to scrub off the butterfly to get good results.
