I have a rebuilt KA24DE from a 1996 240sx, i was wondering what exactly would need to be done to make it work in my 88 hardbody, The motor i have right now is the Z24 (4 cyl motor with 8 plugs) Some things I was wondering is would my tranny match up (5-speed manual) obviously i would need a new computer, but from what, a newer Truck or a 240? If anyone can help it would be great, thanks
You'll probably need the ECU from the 240 and make some wiring changes to accomodate that, maybe change around your exhaust piping up front and change fans or radiator...other than that, it's a direct swap from what I hear.

'88 Pathfinder: 6" of lift, 33x13.50 Swamper LTB's, Rancho 9000's, L&P Stage 3 steering system, K&N, Pacesetter headers and 2.5" exhaust, Lock-Right locker, 110A alty and electric fan swap, dual batteries, 700W+ worth of PIAAs, etc.
i have an 87 that im doing the same swap with a t-25 on and i have the motor trans (though not needed) ecu and wiring harness from the donor 240sx. The one thing i keep hearing is something about the oil pan and pickup needing fabbed but there has to be a simpler procedure. good luck with yours ill post info and pics when i start mine.
Use the truck flywheel. Larger clutch. Z24 and KA24 are both internally balanced, so it should be a direct swap. If in doubt, get a 90-97 truck flywheel.
This is a common swap for the 240 guys, who are too cheap to buy a lighter flywheel.
