I have replaced the ball joints on my 95 nissan p/u. Of all the things I cant figure out, it is replacing the boot on the lower ball joint. The bottom of the boot has a metal ring in it and it fits firmly around the joint. How do I get it on there without poking a whole in it? It just doesnt seem to want to go down.

That is a fun thing to do. I just replaced mine on my 95 and it was a pain in the butt. I did find a easy way to get them on. As long as u have a ball joint press (The big C clamp) There ia a metal cup that fits around the boot perfectly. That what i used.

Your new balljoint didn't come with the boot already installed? That's very weird. Mine are preinstalled, every time. They're not meant to be removed and reinstalled.
