Question Would performance cams impact 02 sensors?

I had the Nissan 262 performance cams put in my 97 Pathfinder last month. Since then, my check engine light has gone on saying my rear 02 sensors were done. I replaced the rear 02 sensors. Just a couple days ago, my check engine light came on again and the code says it's the front 02 sensors.

Would the larger cams and the different lift duration trick the ECU into thinking somethings wrong with the 02 sensors??? or is it just a coincidence?

Anyone??? I'd rather not have to replace my front 02 sensors if they're really ok.

I doubt it. The sensors should simply register a rich or lean condition in the exhaust gases, regardless of how much is running through the pipes. How many miles were on those O2 sensors? They do tend to go out after a while...

I'm not exactly sure. I've had the truck for about just under two years and I've put 15K miles on it. They're obviously older than that but who know how long. How long do 02 sensors last?

So assuming that they haven't been changed prior to my purchasing the vehi cle, it would be about right. I currently have just over 95K miles on it.

Thanks.

I don't think that a performance cam would cause anything with your o2 sensors. I am wordering how you like your performance cam.

They're great! You can definitely notice a big difference before and after. The idle is a bit lumpy but I enjoy the increase in power. You especially notice it on hills or mountains or when passing on 2 lane highways. I haven't had a chance to pull anything yet but that is also why I got them.
