i have a favor for anyone with an 84/85 2wd 720

Can someone with a 1985 or 84 and a tachometer tell me procisly what mph you are doing in each gear at redline.
like just 1st 2nd and 3rd.

Because i drive the freeway sometimes and when i go to pass at about 60-75mph i will shift into 3rd and just wind the hell out of it... and i know im going way beyond redline. i know redline is at 5500rpm's and i dont like to go to more then 5700.

and i have a feeling im easyly exceeding 6k.

witch as we all know. is just asking to have a rod blow. or anythang else that might happen as well

so someone with a tach and a z24 motor...please help. i cant afford a tach. (right now)

I have a 84 owners man. "up shift speeds"
1st - 2nd =15mph
2nd - 3rd =25mph
3rd - 4th =40mph
4th - 5th =45mph
I dont see anything on "max speeds", 60-75mph in 3rd sounds a little high to me, but I dont pay too much attention to speeds, I pay more attention to the sound when I shift

i picked up a gauge cluster with a tach for my 93 off ebay for $10 + shipping.. you may want to look into doing the same thing, as a tach is also very helpful in tuning and diagnostics. 75 in 3rd gear doesn't sound too high at all, but i don't know if you have the same gearing and transmission as i do.
