power steering upgrade

anybody converted the armstrong steering over to power steering..? i figure its not too dificult and just a matter of snagging the pump , hoses pulleys and box. do i need to change the column or can i bolt the steering shaft right on the power steering box? im just sick of the rack and pinion and my girlfriend doesnt like driving the truck without power steering and i dont like her driving my good truck all the time cuz .. well its mine damn it. heh.

any help is appreciated if you guys know anything else i might need let me know. i have access to a few trucks with power steering ( 93 harbody in the salvage yard ) they said i could pull the whold assembly for 50 bux .

The alignment is slightly different. But you would be having that checked anyway. Other than that, you should be able to do it. I like the manual steering monicker. Armstrong steering, takes all the power you got! (Then some) I do find it is easier to turn when moving. I am running 9.5 inch wide tires on increased offset wheels with the old armstrong setup. I am also one of the few that can drive it.
