'01 xterra V6 question

I have an '01 Xterra, 4-wheel drive. It has 62,000 miles on it and has started a cold start up ticking to the engine. Is this normal(not to worry about) or should I have the top end looked at.

It's probably normal. Nissan engines typically have loud valvetrains. I've never met a Nissan where I couldn't hear it when it started. What kind of oil are you using? I would recommend a quality conventional oil, like Pennzoil or Havoline. Search for "oil" using the Search function, and you'll find tons of messages...even just in the Truck/SUV forum.
