Hey there fellow pathy lovers. I have a 95 with 280000kms it runs like a charm. It has all the new wires, plugs, dist. and rotor, the oil filter and gas filter are new and the air filter is also newly washed. Everything has been running like normal till early this week when it (SOMETIMES) does this little hiccup thing at around 80 km/hr. You can feel it pause for a split second then it kicks in again, you can feel it in the pedal as well. It happens when the engine is hot or cold. It sometimes happens when I accelerate, and then it sometimes has stalled at a stop sign??? But only sometimes. Dunno________________Any help would be much apreciated..... Thanks very much
i had this issue on my pathfinder when i first picked it up and through some hair-pulling research found EGR valve to be the issue, mind you it never had any problems idling, but would buck like a horse with very light throttle
you can determine if this is the case by just pulling the small vaccum hose off that goes to the EGR valve and plug the hose with a bolt, then driveit a bit to see if it's gone. DON"T leave the EGR disconnected.
if this does take away the chugging, what worked for me was some good 'ol SeaFoam through the intake and gas, follow by a bunch of time on the highway to burn out all the crap. it's gone now, and alot cheaper ($10) than a new EGR.
