looking at my hanes manual it looks like it is to your transmission harness. but i don't really know for sure..i'll keep looking for you.

Wait -- let me check my wiring diagram -- Lets's see here...just behind the cup of coffee...yep -- starter relay.

Seriously, though, I had a '93 pickup & when my starter was going out it was very intermittent. It took a while (for the mechanic) to find that it was the starter & not various relays.

Does it make a "ticking" noise when the key is turned on?

If so then it operates the starter motor. If the starter is not engaging then give that thing a few taps with a screwdriver handle.

Your lucky, It looks like a breeze to replace.
