1999 Frontier XE engine stall

1999 frontier XE v-6, standard transmission

I'm getting engine stall when coming to a stop from highway speeds. Am also getting stall occasionally when parked and idling. Seems like the engine is just idling too low but maybe not. Any ideas?

My 2000 Sentra was doing the samething. Dealer replaced Idle Control Valve, which didn't fix the problem. They tried an ECU to no avail and then Nissan Corporate told them to try the Air Flow Meter. Bingo ! Unfortunately, the dealer said the Idle Control Valve an Air Flow meter work hand in hand so if one goes, it's good to replace both. The original ECU went back in my car.

I found the problem, alternator was on the fritz. Now I put in a new one and got a whining noise. Shop thinks it is the idle pulley bearings. Gonna replace and we'll see.
