Question about 94 hardbody

First of all i am new. I have had my truck for about 2 years now and i have had the engine rebuilt and tuned, everything. I want to put a lift on my truck witch i bought from 4x4 offroad. It is a body lift, because i want to put bigger tires on there. If i do that will it take away power from my engine. i have a 4 cylinder. I want to keep right around the same power because i try to pull many trailer like jetski's and other things. Are there engine mods that i can put on. It there anything i can do to raise the trucks hp. Are there air intakes that can go on these trucks. What can i do to modify this truck to get more power. I want to swap out the engine, but the engine is basically new now. I don't want to get rid of it. Please help. Everything on this truck is stock! please email me with all questions and help if possible. Thanks. My email is misshesperia19@ms.com or post here

Have you even tried looking? By the sound of it you haven't even tried looking yet. Look at www.4x4parts.com and look into getting a suspension lift...it costs more but its so much better. Body lifts have the tendency to break...squeak...and also harms other components as well. A suspension lift would be a much better investment. You shouldn't lose any horsepower with bigger tires. Just look around at other forums and see what other sites people are using.

You don't "lose horsepower" with larger diameter tires. What they do is effectively lengthen your gear ratio (meaning lowering it, numerically). This kind of has the same affect as "losing horsepower", but it's not really the same. If you put a tire on there that's 10% taller than the stock tire, you can figure that you're losing 10% of the torque multiplication the gears give you, and can figure on "losing" 10% of your power. So that might make a 130 hp truck effectively a 117 hp truck. All of this is in general terms of course.

Are you working with a 4x4 or 4x2 here? If you have a 4x4, you can put 31x10.50 tires on with no modifications. If you need to lift it higher with a body lift to put even LARGER tires on, you can't expect it to tow the same. You WILL feel a difference. What size tires are on there now?
