Hi guys and gals. I found this place while scouring the web looking to find instructions on how to replace the license plate bulbs on my 1997 Pathfinder. For some reason the instructions in the owner's manual has a picture of a different style of light than the one on my vehicle There are no screws to unscrew on mine like there is on the one pictured in the owner's manual, and the lights are mounted on the sides of the plate not above it like in the manual. I would really rather do this myself instead of taking it to the dealer to have it done. Can anyone explain to me how I can replace the bulbs? Any help would be much appreciated.

I haven’t done this, but it looks like you’ll have to remove the inner door panel for the rear hatch. From what I can see, there are tow screws that secure the inner door pull and the rest of the panel is held in place with spring clips. I really don’t see any other way to get at those bulbs.
