Absolutely. Piece of cake. The only "special equipment" you might need that you don't have is a timing light, but I wouldn't worry too much about it. Here's what I would do for a complete tuneup, if you haven't done these things yet:

1) Spark plugs. Start with NGK...these seem to run the best. After your tuneup is done and if you want to start playing around with different brands, do so. But get the OE plugs in now for the tuneup so you can get a good baseline.

2) Cap/rotor. Go ahead and replace these, since you probably don't know how old they are. $15 max at your local parts house.

3) Wires. Inspect them for signs of cracks and deterioration. Wires usually last a LONG time. I'm on the original set of wires on both my vehicles (see mileage in my signature). Replacing spark plug wires at every tuneup on a modern vehicle is overkill in my opinion.

4) Air filter and breather filter. If you have a 4-cylinder, these two filters are in the same housing. The breather filter is a small foam piece that's in a white plastic housing in the upper left corner of the air cleaner, as you look at it from the front. Look at where the rubber hose comes out of the back of the valve cover, and goes up and connects to the air cleaner housing. This is where the breather filter is. Both of those parts are cheap (the air and the breather filter).

5) PCV valve. If you don't know how old it is, go ahead and replace it. It's hard to get to. Just above the oil filter. It's screwed into a black housing; you'll need a small adjustable wrench to get it out (I forgot the exact size).

6) While you're at it, change the oil and filter. While you have the filter out, that'll make it easy to get at the PCV valve.

7) The engine timing is the last thing in a traditional tuneup, but if the truck is running fine otherwise, and you don't have a timing light, it's probably not something I'd pay someone to check. You can probably assume it's timed correctly. But if the truck is running rough or pinging or otherwise running weird, it'd be a good idea to make sure the correct timing is set (10* BTDC on a KA24E).

Good luck!

At 152k it would be wise to change the upper o2 sensor. It should bring your mileage back up to what it was at 50k. I changed the lower sensor. But it only makes a difference of about 1-3 tenths of a MPG. You can rent a socket to change it from autozone.

If your truck was built after 1/96 its an OBD 2. I would either buy the cap and rotor from the dealer or order an OEM online.( there were to different distributers used. Mine is the hitachi and its incredibly iritating to find the rotor button.) you could try www.nissanparts.cc but I'm pretty sure there are cheaper places around. And I wouldn't use parts store wires they never last. I just finished going through a set in 20,000 miles. NGK makes a quality wire set for around $20.

Just to throw in my $0.02, I agree with all said. Make sure the engine is cool before removing the spark plugs. I think the plug gap is between .042 and .044, but make sure as I may be wrong. The fuel filter is located on the firewall behind the air filter. It is easy to change. Small clamp on top and bottom. Some people like to pull the fuel pump relay or fuse then start the car to bleed the pressure out of the fuel lines. I have never found the spray to be a problem, though.
