Vacum leak

my check enigne light came on not to long ago and i went up to kwik kar and they plugged the comp thing into it and he said i had a vacum leak, he told me that i could to it if it was jus a hose and jus to spray brake cleaner around on the hoses till i find it. but he said if its a cylonoid i probably cant do it. but how hard would it be to do because i dont wanan spend alot to get it fixed and i think it is a vacum hose to my a/c becuase when i turn on my a/c i can here like a sucking noise and it has never done that.
thanks

Be careful with the brake cleaner; I'm pretty sure it eats rubber

And it's REAL flammable. Listen around the engine compartment and you should be able to find it.

This is a good reminder to go to Autozone or other places and get the codes read for free but do not listen to them tell you what is wrong or how to diagnose it, just get the actual P-codes and post back here. I'm guessing you probably got a lean code which could be anything from an O2 sensor to vacuum leaks to a clogged fuel filter. But we are all guessing until you post the actual P-code(s) that were retrieved.
