98 Pathfinder 4X4 Question

This is a nissan pathfinder SE 98. I just changed all the
differential & transfer case oils (Mobil1 Synthetic ATF). I have two questions.

When the Truck is in 4X4 does the engine gets hotter than 2 whell drive.
I felt that that engine got hotter. Only time I used 4X4 is in snow. I never noticed the engine heat. Is it normal?. The Heat gauge on the dashboard is nomal (middle)

When its 4X4 and in tight turns it gets very slow (Heavy traction), I
felt like front wheel is skidding. It needs an extra push to the gas
pedel to move the car (In tight turns when its in 4X4).

Thanx in advance.

The engine should not get any hotter in 4wd than in 2wd mode. In theory, there is more drag in 4wd, but the cooling system has the capacity to handle it, as evidenced by the needle staying in the normal position on your gauge.

This is normal. When in 4wd, all four wheels are locked into turning the same speed (assuming they all have traction). When you make a turn, the inside tires have to travel less distance than the outside tires. The differentials correct for this, and all would be normal. However, the front tires also have to travel a different distance (longer) than the rear tires, and there is no center differential...the transfer case locks the two axles together. So something has to give...and the front tires, while turning, usually scratch around for traction and you can usually perceive that as them skipping and sliding as you turn slowly.
