Hello Guys,

I am running into Problems changing over my Nissan Truck to newer interior.

The door panels and such were a cinch. The heater controls and such weren't that hard either. But the problem that I am running into is the speedometer and the guages.

On the speedo... On my 1986 there is a speedo cable. On the 1997 there isn't.

Next is the guages. The plugs arent the same...

My question...

Would it be easier (while I have the interior stripped out) to change the entire wiring harness to the newer one ?

I am running a Carburated Z motor... Not worried about the Fuel Injection connections.

Confused... FLawless to this point... Now I am stuck !

i assume ur running the "round" 97 dash
?
get a diagram form autozone.com for the 97 pickup and run 2 wires from your speedo to a speedosensor. the speedosensore is found in 93 and up hardbodies and in 88 and up 240 sx, on the 240s there is even a separate 2 wire wirig harness to aid in ur installation.
on autozone.com go to the service manual or diagrams section and you will find the schematics for your year. they should tell you wire color and connections. this will help for tach and speedo. for the other gauges yous hould find the colors as well from the diagrams. you are runnign a 300z motor ot nap-z motor?

ddi you get the plugs out of the donor vehicle? i ussually cut the plugs out when i get a guage.. if not goto a junk yard . for some clusters, you can find screw ont he back that are connected to some circuits for the fuel and temp gauges.
