Exhaust Gas Temp Sens error on 95 pathfinder

Hey everyone,

Replaced my V6 engine in my 95 pathfinder recently. The old engine was a california emmision car; the new one wasn't. I didn't pay enough attention to this so now that it's put back together and running I'm getting an Exhaust Gas Temperature Sensor Error by checking the error codes.
The sympton I'm getting is a mean stumble off-idle when cold. When warm, the engine runs great. Mileage is as it was before. (I also replaced the O2 sensor)

What part should I looking at? Is it the part that the copper exhaust pipe runs up to on the drivers side? (What is that called?). This is the part that looks different between the non-CA and CA emmissions. I have the old part, but I have no idea how the vacuum lines get routed...

I know i'm a :dumbass:

Maybe someone has a factory repair manual that can help me out.

Thanks for any help!
Patrick

You may already know this, but didn't say specifically, so I thought I'd throw it out. The California models, both VG30 and KA24 I believe, had EGT sensors. The non-CA vehicles didn't. So your computer is looking for the EGT sensor and it's not there. I don't know if it'd be simpler (or even possible) to swap to a non-CA computer. Your other option is installing the EGT sensor, wherever it goes. And that's the extent of my knowledge on that...because I don't know where the EGT goes on the VG30, or what it screws into (one of the exhaust manifolds I'd imagine). Sorry if you already knew what I posted above.

Jason,
Thanks for the info. Well, I did take off a sensor off the old motor that wasn't on the new motor - and it was part of the EGR setup - That could be it. I guess I need to make sure it's hooked up properly. I'll keep digging!
