As far as I know you should be able to do the swap without any other
problems than getting the engine and tranny into the frame. (See my
other thread about the woes of replacing the engine) The only difference
between the -87 transmission and the -95 transmission is the bellhousing
and the bolt pattern between the engine and the bellhousing. As long as
you swap both engine and transmission at the same time you should be fine.
I have no idea if the front clips are interchangeable though.
