Getting ready to try this project. Looks straight-forward except for #6, hidden next to the firewall. I can get my hand on the the boot but can't see the plug. Removal and installation has to be strictly by feel right?. Any tips?
when facing the engine come in at it from the left top side behind the A/C tubing. You are going to have to use a long socket wrench extender and a U joint.

I am not a mechanic so do I need to clean around the sparkplug before removing it? If so, how?

just something to scrape up the sand and crap that sits at the base of the plug. Then get some compressed air to blow out. If you don't have a compressor, you can use some of that compressed air that comes in a can.
