installing a navigation / GPS system?

A friend gave me the GPS Navigation unit from his Chrysler PT Cruiser. He had it put in after market, and had it removed before he sold his cruiser. Gave me a box with all the cables, hidden mounted CD disk drive, dash screen (which says Chrysler on it), and all. I think it would be cool to have this in my Pathy. The screen mounts on the dash, I think it is from 2002. I don't have the original manual (which may make installation a challenge).
Any feedback on if I should get it installed? Has anyone else had a used system put in their pathfinder? Success or failure tips?
Thanks
Mike

You said it's aftermarket, but says Chrysler? Was it a dealer option? If not, what brand is it?

In any case I say go for it! You just need to get some documentation to see if you really have all of the parts and then go from there. Is this an integrated radio/nav unit, or just navigation?

I think it was a dealer option. My parents took the car back to the dealer to get it installed. And it is not integrated into the radio. It's a single nav. unit. I will ask them to try and track down the book/manual again, or I could contact that dealer and ask them for info on what they were installing in 2002.

I THINK there may be a problem with space between the windshield and the dash, There is not that much room in the 98 Pathy, and over the steering wheel the plastic curves up leaving only a couple inches. The NAv. screen is about 5 to 6 inches high.
