Exclamation Please, need help with Z24i engine.

Hi

Im a guy from Sweden that owns a Urvan, you know the ugly highroof container
Im using it for transportation of my motorcycle when im going on trackdays through Sweden.

There isnt a repair manual in whole Sweden about the Urvan or the Z24 engine. What i know is that the Urvan and the KinCab has the same engine, but i think that several american models of Nissan uses the Z24 engine especially Z24i. Anyone knows which US models have the Z24i engine???

If someone can take som pictures of their engine would also be great help for me....Primarily i need that picture of all the hoses that are connected around the EGR valve. Theare like 7-8 hoses in that area that are connected on small pipes etc.

If anyone has a link to a pdf or maybe can email me some info on where the screws are for the air/fuel mixture, crank angle sensor cicuit, engine coolant temp. sensor circuit are located id be thankfull.

To my problem then:
I was driving on the motorway when suddenly i heard a whissling noice.
When i came home i looked at it and i saw that the Lambda sond was all trashed. First i plugged the hole and thought that the car would work as usual, cause i was going to a race track the day after.
The day after i started the car and i drove away to the race track.
Well the drive wasnt so long
The car wasnt able to go faster then 70km/h downhill
Uphill i was forced to go on 2:nd gear cause the engine didnt have any power to go in 3:rd. Upphill speed was 30km/h.
1mph=1,6kmh

I left the car 40 km from home and i took the bike out of it and rode in the rain for 300km to the race track......was i wet or what

When i came home i bought a new Lambda and installed and thought this was it, now its ok again......NOT!!!!
I noticed that the EGR valve was broken, it was loose and plenty of air was leaking from it, so i replaced it and hoped.....but NOPE same shit as before
There are so many hoses that i had to disconnect when i took of the EGR valve and i dont remember how the were fitted before, so maybe its that, need a picture from someone to see if i put them back together wrong?
I also took the time to change all sparkplugs when i still was fixing all the other things.

I saw about the ECU diagnostics, and got 2 codes out of it no. 11 crank angle sensor circuit and 13. engine coolant temp. sensor circuit. Becasue i dont have a repair manual i dont where theese are located. I went through all connections with WD40 and managed to get rid of the no. 11 code.
No. 13 is still there.
After that i reset the ECU and hoped this would solve the problem, but NOPE again....!!!!
Still same shit.

How does the engine sound :

On idle it runs better then ever, smooth and nice
Asi give gas it kind of chokes, and starts to shake hard and irregulary.
The exhaust gases are really hot dont know if its supposed to be like that?
Also air comes out from the airintake where the air filter is located.....???
Thats what im worried most about, why does air blow out from the airintake?

Please someone help me with this cause I must get this fixed soon, and ordering a book will take me over 10 days to get here.
Before i order a book i need to know which is the best???
Im pretty good with mechanics so i dont need a beginners book. Is there any cd´s ????

Regards R

Here the lambada is a dance not sure what you refering to..... but the Z24i was used in Nissan Pickups you can get a Haynes Manual #72030 for it or a Chiltons Repair Guide but I have never like Chilton's books. A Haynes Manual Cost about $16.00 US and weights about half a pound shipping weight probably . It contains the best aftermarket information on the engine and drivetrain second only to the Nissan Factory Service Manual which is over $100.00 US. I would be willing to send you one if you have problems getting one from autozone.com or advanceautoparts.com aslong as you piad for the shipping on it. You can also try alldata.com they have all the info you need online but you must subscribe monthly to get it. What kinda motorcycle do you have????

Here we call that an oyxgen sensor or an 02 sensor and the thing you call a catalysator we call a catalytic converter. Never heard of or seen a R1 I don't think, do you have any pics of it? Why didn't you get a Kawasaki? Also forget money.... if you send me one of those Sweedish babes I'll give you MY book! Any vaccum hose not connected will cause very poor performance to the engine not running at all. And I would love to dance the Lambada with a Sweedish chick------> Also what year is your Urvan???? You have crazy words for stuff in Sweeden but hot girls!!!!!

That resembles a kawasaki ZR12. If you ever drop that bike on the ground you may need therapy because that looks like an expensive paint job. Good looking color just not a fan of the flames...I give it a 9/10. I hope you didn't drive that in the rain after the urvan broke down, it just looks too good to get it wet!

Thats pretty hardcore to build your own bike from parts! Not sure how much 600 H is in American money but I'm sure doing that wouldn't be cheap here. Good work on the paint job what do you do for a living?? Cause if it ain't painting cars at a autobody shop then you need to go apply immediately for a job at a shop..... you will be rich !!!!!(unless you already are , then you need to the make me a millionare fund! )

As for the cost its around 27.000$

Im so angry at my urvan now, that im considering of trashing the engine with a sledge hammer.

Can someone send me a picture of their engine where the egr valve is located and where all the hoses are connected.

Nissanjunkie: can you explain for me where the crank angle sensor is located???

27,000 huh? I could get three zr12's for that!

I'm not sure however that the Big Fu*king Hammer will work in your situatuion but if you decide to do so get plenty of pics!!!!!!

The crank angle sensor is built in to the distributor. You can't see it when you take off the distrubutor cap because its underneath the rotor head. I wish I had a scanner so I could just scan the parts of the book you neeed. : Lightbulb comes on over head : Do you not have a vaccum hose diagram on the inside of the engine compartment? Must vehicles over here have that as well as a belt diagram and information about some of the ignition components! : / Lightbulb comes on over head :

I don't have a digital camera but it wouldn't help since I have a V6 not the 2.4 L. I searced but can't find a pic of the engine bay with the EGR visible. Does your urvan have fuel injection (all 91 model Nissans in America do but not sure about elsewhere). If it does then check the computer for any codes it might have stored.
