97 Pathfinder - Blower Motor Resistor

Based on what I've seen in other posts this resistor needs replacing on my Pathfinder. The blower runs on high no matter what the setting and will not turn off. Is this the source of the problem? If so, where exactly is the resistor located. I cannot see it in the area of the blower motor.

Nah, the problem sounds like the high blow relay.

If the resistor card is defective, as mine was, the blower will only operate at full speed when the fan speed control is set to the high-speed position. The blower will not run when the fan speed control is set to any of the three other run positions. As for the location of the resistor card; it is in the front passenger’s foot well just to the left of the blower. It is parallel with the firewall, has a flat wire connector with a large lavender wire and 3 or 4 smaller wires and is held in with two screws. Disconnect the electrical connector then remove the two screws. The card is then removed by pulling it straight down toward the floorboard.
