03 Pathy Oil Change

I'm new to this board and the whole SUV thing. My wife and I bought our new Pathfinder a couple of weeks ago, and I wanted to change the oil in it yesterday, but decided that it would be too much of a pain to do myself. Anyone have any tips on changing it that would change my mind? Do I have to take off the whole skidplate to get to the filter? Who designed this dang thing? I did my trans am in 10 minutes yesterday. What's up with that?

It's not a real big deal. Just a few minutes to remove the 11 bolts on the plate and the rest is pretty straight forward.
