1994 4x4 SE V6 King Cab

I have a fan problem. When it engages it robs a lot of hp. The fan is nosy as well. I have had it replaced with 3rd party part, but the problem is still there. Any solutions?? (electric fan or cooling system mods??)

How do I get more HP for the 3.0l engine?

Hey,, I have a 94 SE-V6 HB too. Mine is a VG30E.. Same thing... I have no idea about the fan but I got lots of ways to get more HP.
Tell me what accessories you have on there now,
1: New muffler (Flowmaster, Gibson,,,,,,,
2: Dual exhuast , Both will give you up too 10-15% increase in HP.
3. K&N filter, maybe 2-3 HP
4. Headers, I have Thorley's , at least 15%increase in HP.
5. New cat. converter
6. Spark plug wires or new ignition........

If youre having problems with a fan thats using a belt to power itself get an electric fan puller instead

the fan actually does rob much hp and the only time it should be noticed is on cold mornings until ambient temp in the engine compartment softens the silicon inside the fan clutch or on hot enough days to solidify the silicon. 2 ways to get rid of it are using a flex fan or twin electric. being from the desert area of AZ you learn to deal with it because it does help especially when towing. most people will complain that the tranny is slipping when they hear the noise.

Good advice dvdswanson! Also make sure the radiator and condenser cooling fins are in good shape. Problems to look for with cooling fins are: blockage from dirt or mud (common on 4x4), heavy amount of bugs (mostly regular highway driving), and bent or smashed fins (kids like to do this).
