Dextron II or III for 1995 pickup 2.4 automatic?

My truck's manual says call dealer for transmission fluid type. I want to change it tomorrow a their service is closed on Saturday. My transmission is a RL4R01A automatic in a 1995 XE 4X2 2.4L with airconditioning.

Thanks

Dexron II is standard fluid in the transmission but use Dexron III because the SAE required that III have all of the properties of Dexron II when III was created but it also has other additives that are benefical to your transmission but it won't hurt it at all. It's difficult to find II anywhewre around here if at all. Also don't forget to get a new gasket for the pan and change the filter since they are sold together. BTW I recomend getting a drain plug kit for your tramsmission if your handy with a drill and want to save $18 everytime you change you fluid. LOL I'm gonna chamge my name to Mr. information if I keep answering qustions.......:sigh: I need a girl friend. But I got a Nissan so its all cool! me =
