Talking Rear Sway Bar

I'm interested in installing a rear sway bar on my 97 2-WD XE X-Cab truck to reduce body roll in turns. I am not aware of any factory installed rear bar on the 2-WD models.

I can go with aftermarket or was thinking of installing one from a Pathfinder.
This Pathfinder option would include some welding; axle and frame brackets.

Looking for advise and recommendations on aftermarket sway bars.

Regards,
KKSPEED

hey if it's stiff and cheap to bolt on then give it a try. I'm sure some other hardbodys have messed with rear sway bars, do a search. Is it dropped?

It's not dropped because I haul with it. I just hate the way that it "plows" in turns. I added KYB gas shocks which helped a little bit, but I want to take out more of the body roll.

I don't know of any Hardbody trucks that got rear stabilizer bars. If you have an aftermarket company that makes them for your application, it should be a bolt-in. Some (or maybe all) Frontier models starting in 1998 had rear stabilizer bars...those may be adaptable to your model if the aftermarket route is too expensive.

Also, don't forget the front stabilizer bar. If you're really seeing too much body roll, the first step would be to add polygraphite or polyurethane end links to your front stab. bar. That will noticeably improve your handling. If that doesn't do enough, go to a bigger front bar. A larger front bar plus the rear bar should make it handle really well.
