Hello to everyone, Im new to this furum but i am hoping to finally get my truck to run after about a year of this problem. My 87 vg30 se 4x4 king cab will crank and run fine up to 2800 rpms then it begins to surge. I have replaced the ECU the Injectors gone through the wiring, etc. It seems no matter what i do i can not find the probem. From a posting I have read some where in this forum I remember someone saying that the return voltage on the MAF should be about 1.6+-.26 volts. mine is reading .26 this is without the engine running. I have not tried it with the engine running. I have also read somewhere where the reason for my engine acting this way is becuase the ECU is in "fail safe" mode which can be caused by allot of different sensors and components. I have already spent so much money on this truck and i was kinda fixing to give up on it until i began to suspect the MAF from reading in this forum. I just want to know if there is a good check to do on the MAF to determine if it is bad and can it cause the ECU to go into "fail safe" mode.
I would suggest having a Nissan dealership run a Consult diagnostic. It's really difficult flying blind on these things, even with the service manual. You'll probably save the diagnostic charge by not buying as many parts to throw at the problem.
