Hopefully this thread won't get ignored.

I have seen a few threads about reseting this lite by holding your nose and pressing the door lite switch a number of times, then turning the car on.

My lite came on while I was chasing down another issue in the steering column. I did not have a door switch in place so I went down to Nissan and got one, put it in and tried to reset the lite with no luck.

There are 2 diffrent thread about this reset. One say's to press the button 7 times and the other says to press the button 5 times in 7 seconds. Does anyone know which is correct.

One other thing I noticed and am not sure is important. When I put the new door switch in, I would get the beep when the door is open or the head lights are on and will stop when I shut the door or remove the key. The dome lite does not come on when the door is open, but it will come on when I open the passenger door.
Not sure if the lite and the reset are all part of the same circuit.

Not sure as I do not have a passenger side switch or airbags in my 95PU. I will check my scream-at-it (schematic) to see if I can figure out if there is a connection. BTW, what model and year?

Thanks for the feed back. I corrected the problem. The switch was not grounded properly.
