Unhappy 04 Quest Trailer Wiring

Nissan dosen't make a in-line connector for trailer wiring, so I had to purchase a aftermarket one. It's just a simple tail light convertor with a 4-way flat plug. Problem is that the blinkers won't work when it is connected to the trailer. They blink one time and turn off. But if I step on the bake and then turn on the blinker it works fine, until I release the brake. I read in another forum that somebody had this same problem. Any suggestions?

I got a reply from another forum and thought I'd pass on the info.

NISSAN recommends a Modulite converter for the 04 Quest.
A little heftier converter.. probably around 10-18 amps.. and mopre importantly is powered directly from a battery lead fused with a 20 amp resetable breaker...or a 20 amp in line fuse.

The sensitve flasher relay/computer sensors in your relay detects the converter amperage fluctuation outside of its regulated parameters..

I'll give it a try and let you guys know what happens.

Hey BK,

I have this same problem with my '05 Frontier while towing a camper. Did you get resolution with the device you were talking about?

Thanks, Beck
