What a fun time in Colorado...
Well I spent all last week in colorado and got to do some off roading in the ole Black Knight "Trooper!" Even though my truck is only a 2wd with the desert runner package it has always done pretty good off road. in Colorado though, i'm sad to say it got stuck for the first time and I also bruised him up a bit. I was hauling huge tree stumps off to the slash pile and it was time to pick up the ones around back of my uncles house (which is on the side of the mountian by the way) On the descent down the hill on my uncles property next the house the loose fill dirt gave way, opened up a large hole and my truck slid nose first into a nice bed of rocks ( lower front bumper is now scratched all to hell and cracked in a few places but luckily didn't lose a light) after goosing the throttle "trooper" clawed his way out of the hole (thank God for skid plates and when nissan tucked everything away up under the frame) On the way back up the hill is when I got stuck (75 degree incline it seemed and was the only way up.) After trying to pull it out with the Suburban with not enough traction, the Construction workers up the road that were building a cabin were nice enough to bring their back-hoe down and they pulled my out with the hydraulics alone! only problem is when pulling me out of the hole, it bashed the right nerf bar to smitherene's and it's all bent and mangled and looks horrible. On top of all that the windshield got cracked and the truck is muddier than the mountains themselves
In other words my truck looks like crap! or like it's been used rather extensively. Either way I'll try and snap some photos to show ya! Just thought I'd tell ya a story! I wonder how my truck would look without the nerf bars?
later,
