Gas blowing out filler neck?

I have a 2001 Frontier XE. Everytime I am filling up and the tank gets full, instead of simply having the pump shut off, the gas spews back out of the filler neck. This usually happens after the pump has shut off.
I was wondering if this is a common thing, and if there was anything out there that anyone has found that has solved this problem.

Any help is appreciated.

Make sure the nozzle is in as far as it will go when filling up.

This should not be a car thing, rather the shut-off on the nozzle(s) you are using is acting up.

Might want to try a different station ... or at least a different pump.

I've tried pushing the nozzle in, does the same thing every time. Also, no matter which station I go to, it always does the same thing.

Maybe it's just me.

The air vent in the filler neck is probably clogged.
