Warrenty On Frontier

Ok guys, I'll find out tommorrow if I've got a problem with my Frontier, 2.4L. Tonight it seemed like it was smoking a bit.

Now, here's my question, and it may be something I could find out myself, but I just want to see what ya'll say.

I am the second owner of the truck, dude before me bought it new, then traded it in, and I got it from the new car dealer. It has 58,000 miles on it, so it should be under warrenty (drivetrain), but will it be covered since I'm not the first owner? Also, would that be something that is covered? And would me putting an aftermarket muffler on it do anything to the warrenty?

4 years old and 58K, and you still have a warranty?

I don't think Nissan has a powertrain warranty more than 3/36,000, do they? If you bought it "certified", they may have extended the warranty, but I don't think Nissan has a certified pre-owned program (or at least my local dealer doesn't know about it). The muffler would only void your warranty (if you have one) if it was the root cause of the smoking. Unless the dealer can somehow prove that the muffler caused the smoking, you should be good.

The powertrain on my new 2003 Frontier has a 5yr/60,000 warrenty-----that's why I got the supercharged model.

My 2000 Frontier was only 3yr/36,000-----so not sure when the longer period came into effect----or if it transfers to later owners.

The powertrain on mine is 5/60,000. But it doesn't matter, it was a false alarm, was something else last night
