Well, my engine light came on about a week ago and when I got the code pulled. It came up as the speed sensor. So I replaced it and yesterday my light came on again with the same problem showing as the speed sensor. Is there anything else I can check to fix this problem? The wiring and harness looks fine. If someone could please help me I would greatly appeciate it. I need to pass emissions. By the way it is a 98' 5spd. 4x2 reg. cab 4cyl.

Sometimes the codes can take a few cycles to clear out. Try going back to autozone and having them clear the codes out for you. If it comes back again then you have a more underlying problem

Yeah my speed sensor deficated in the sleeping area also about a week ago . The dealer wanted to replace the speedo head also for $475.00. I told them to just put in the speedo sensor $215.00 later everthing is fine.
