Well, yesterday I decided to trade in my 2000 Blazer towards an '04 Xterra XE, which was probably the best decision I've made concerning any car, although it left me $26,000 in debt!
Either way, the Xterra is an '04, VG33E V6, 5 speed, automatic everything, 4x4, black in exterior, dark gray interior, with the all new "Xterra World Championship Package" and the "Sport Package".
Either way, just thought I would let you know what it's all about. Opinions are welcome!
I recently traded a 1999 GMC Jimmy for a 2004 Pathfinder...great minds think alike.
Did your Jimmy just all the sudden start falling apart? There for awhile, my Blazer was awesome, but all the sudden, the rear window hydrolic lift broke, the seatbelt broke, gauges started fluttering, last but not least, the paint was starting to crack the chip. The 4x4 was the only good thing about the Blazer.

It died slowly. First little things...window switches, seat lumbar, moldings. Then the big stuff...transmission coolers, AC, window motor, supsension parts. Only 65,000 miles. I am all for buying American but the quality is shit and I am not going to lose my shirt over it. I liked the styling and enjoyed driving it. GM needs to get their act together or they will wonder what happened. I grew up in pro-GM family and even my dad said the hell with them and bought a Toyota this year.
My Mom had a 1994 Blazer with a 4.3L High Output(what a joke) engine-----that thing was just a gutless rattle trap that needed new brakes every 12000 miles-----can we say POS??

I had the rotors turned at the dealer at about 48,000 and planned on changing the pads. Much to my suprise, they did not recomend changing the pads as they were hardly worn (original pads).

Hey! Congrats on your new Xterra! Just bought one myself. Sounds pretty similar to yours -- '04 XE 4x4 V6 5-spd. His name's Buck. Just turned 1K miles yesterday.
Gotta question. When does your low fuel light come on? Mine only comes on when the needle on the gauge hits "E". I'm running on fumes then. Nissan Service Advisor's telling me that's normal but that he'd check a couple of new Xterras and get back to me. Says if the other trucks look like the light comes on sooner he'll replace my "fuel sending unit". Is he full of it???
uh yeah my 03 frontier has the same size tank and when the gas light come on I have about 30 miles MAYBE! i've run out of gas twice on trips because i'm miles from the next gas station!
later,
