question about AC

hi, i just recently bought an '03 pathfinder from a friend of mine who moved out of the country. he doesn't have the car manual when i bought the path. my question is how does the AC work when the temp range (to blow cold air) only goes down to 60 degrees? thanks!

Most auto manufacturers have temperature ranges of 60-90 for electronic HVAC systems. That's the intended interior temperature. If you've got it set at 60, it should feel like a Chicago snowstorm inside. "Normal" interior temperatures are 70-75. 60 is full cold, 90 is full hot.

yeah the lowest temp is at 60 and the highest is at 90 in the pathfinder. i haven't really used the AC yet because when i bought the pathfinder it was winter time. its just yesterday that i tried teh AC and found out the it only goes down to 60 degress. but how come when i set it on 60 the air that was coming out wasn't that cold?

I would suspect something's wrong with the system then. Possibly low charge on the refrigerant, or some other problem. 60 should be full blast cold. If it's not cold enough, take it to the dealer or an A/C shop.
