1990 Tranny Replacement

Ok guys help me with this one. My first post.

I have a 1990 Pathy with a 5 speed tranny.
Just replaced the tranny myself with the help of some friends.
Had to bleed the clutch a little to re-attach the clutch cylinder.
Now I tried to bleed the clutch properly, but i may be doing it wrong. When I press the clutch in its VERY soft. The cylinder will push the fork almost all the way to the end, however it doesn't seem to really be doing anything. I have NOT Started the truck yet and I am wondering if it has to run a little while first to restore clutch functionality?

I hope i explained this correctly.

Also, what is the correct way to bleed the clutch?

Thanks.

Bleeding Clutches

Sounds like you still have air trapped in the lines. Bleed them just as you would brakes: Pump the clutch several times and then hold down while you open the bleeder valve. Close the valve and slowly release the clutch. Repeat several times until no air is seen in the brake fluid. You need to bleed not only the operating cylinder at the transmission but also the clutch dampener. RC
