Question 1995 D21-D Pickup ABS Sensor location

Recently my ABS kite came on on my 1995 D21-D pickup. In checking underneath I can find no wheel speed sensor coming out of the rear drums. I do however have a sensor that seems to monitor driveshaft rotation. Is this the sensor for the ABS or am I way off base? Can anyone give me a brief description on how ABS works on this model. Thanks...... Airfran in Upstate NY

That is the correct location of the rear ABS sensor.

When the ignition is turned on, does the ABS warning light come on immediately and stays on? or does the warning light come only when in 4WD? RC

Check Brake fluid level

First, check your brake fluid level. If that is fine, then there a number of diagnostic routines to identify if the actuator, sensor or control unit is at fault.

Check your PM. RC
