Unhappy question

this may sounds kind of dumb..but what is the thing that manually rolls your window up and down called?
mine were loose and kept falling off inside of my truck and then yesterday i was doing about 60 on a highway and i was rolling my window up after being rolled all the way down and it fell off and flew out the window..so now i need a new one but i don't know what they're called..
PLEASE HELP ME!
btw. i had to take the one off the passenger side to roll my window up.

(isn't that a good 'you might be a redneck if...' joke?!) lol..HELP

Are you referring to the hand crank to roll your window up & down? Of course, if you have power windows you don't have one of these. I can't picture how the hand crank would have flown out the window. Maybe it jumped out of your hand? RC

but i was wondering what it was called. yes..it's the hand crank thingy.
it has been coming loose in my truck a lot..i think it what held it on previously was stripped..so i was rolling my window up going 60 MPH down a major highway..it was about 1/2 an inch up and i had the crank thingy facing the top of my truck still attempting to roll it up..then it fell off causing me to let go of it and it just flew out the window..or maybe you're right..maybe it did just 'jump' out of my hand and out the window. or maybe it was al queda (sp?)
anyways..i was just wondering what it was called so i can call places to see how much they will cost w/out sounding like a moron!
thanks for all the help

TOO FUNNY! My question is how did it fly out the window while you were rolling it down? Were you too busy making a motor sound to imitate a power window? Kidding! It's called a "window crank" or "window crank handle." Did you remember how you removed the passenger window crank handle? What did it have that the drivers crank handle didn't making it fall off? Please don't say more masking tape or fresher gum! Jim

They should list between $15.60 and $13.48 at the dealer, depending on the color. The spring which holds it in place is $0.48. Let me know if you are interested as well as your interior color and I will get you a bit of a break on the price and place it on our web-site.
