Sr20det Performance Truck

Just wondering if i was the only person on this forum with an SR20DET powered hardbody. its a 97 single cab, gray, without the ugly ass stripe. custom mounts, and a 93 240sx rear end, with a cusco diff. hks clutch. motor makes 377hp, no quater mile times as of yet, still figuring out traction issues. well just checking thanks all.

have you looked into installing a 4 link? After having one installed on my '98 Frontier the rear end stuck like glue.

just got back from holiday beach an 1/8th mile strip near the birmingham area, and the quickest i posted was an 13.27 @ 101mph, so that lets ya know how badly im blowing the tires off in the first 2 gears, pics are being posted on a cardomain site by a good friend of mine with a jeep wrangler, but a link will be put up as soon as he is done with the site.

Those are nice 1/4 mile numbers, but in the eighth? 101 in the eighth? WOW! If this were a quarter mile race, this would indicate a car between 270-290 HP at the flywheel (2800 lb car). If this is indeed correct (1/8th mile), you are gonna need a 'cage, flywheel shield, driveshaft loop, and some 5 point harnesses, at least. And probably some fire control. Hell, the only thing I have ever seen do the eighth at over 100 was a snowmobile. I would hate to see ya put that power to the ground as I don't think stock drivline components will hold it. 13.27 (in the quarter) would still add about three seconds worth of insult to my injury. Can't wait to see some pics...

Damn, I run 11.20 @61 in the 1/8th with a stock KA24DE/5spd powered Frontier-and I have 210,000 miles! For traction, you need a LSD or a locker followed with at the very least, a good set of traction bars. You may also want to try putting some ballast in the bed(Got the old KA? It may still serve a function!) My biggest concern however, would be the stock 2 piece driveshaft as it is not a good design for the dragstrip.

oops.

13.26 @108.2 and this time in the 1/4. Montgomery Motorsports park sure was heated up this weekend. Who wants to guess what gave me the traction? anyone? 20 bags of soil. I was doing some gardening and, my truck is A TRUCK and i use it as one sometimes, well on the way back from wal-mart a vette pulled alongside me and we both stopped at the next redlight, well he had dual flowmasters or at least im guessing by the sticker on the window, anyways he revved up his vette and i said what the hell and revved up to 4,000rpm and let the BOV do the rest, he looked at me like i was crazy, well needless to say the light turned green, the back of the truck sunk down and gripped and i kiked his ass by 2 car lengths. i decided to keep the soil in the truck for fri night at the strip. and i ran a 13.26 @108.2 in the 1/4 on bf goodrich drag radials. not bad, cant believe the driveshaft held up. but next within the next 2 weeks im going to be adding a 75 shot for some more umph off the line. well thanx guys ill keep you posted.

NICE.
First, are you a member over at 4x4parts.com? second, a good 4link system under the rear would help with the traction issues....

No, I don't have SR powered Hardbody. What kind of job was the wiring in the truck? Did you encounter any problems that you didn't expect? Also I have read around and heard that the SR20DET has the oil pump at the front of the engine. Is this true? And if it is how did you get around that issue?
Any info would great.
