alright, i drive a 89 pathy yesterday (first day with the pathy on the rd, with me) i stopped at a stop sign, go to ake off, and got it in 1st, then shift to 2nd, NOTHING, if i could get some insight lemme know...
Does your shift lever move? If so, the transmission is probably working correctly and you are shifting between gears. If you let out the clutch in gear with the engine running, does the truck move?

Okay, NOW we're getting somewhere. First you said it doesn't shift gears, but it appears that it does shift gears -- the clutch just doesn't engage with the flywheel? Seems to me that throwout bearings would be a reasonable cause.

I am not so sure that the throw out bearing is the problem. The throw out bearing is the bearing on the end of the clutch fork. It allows the pressure plate to rotate while the clutch is dis-engaged. Have you been under the truck to verify that the slave cylinder is working and that the clutch fork is moving?
In an earlier post you mentioned that you stopped, made first gear, but got to second and you had nothing. To me it sounds like your friction disc is worn, time for a new clutch set.
