Pathfinder Hitch install question?

I have a 2001 Pathy SE 4WD. I want to install a hitch myself, but I cannot find any install instructions. I want to look at instructions before I choose a hitch. Anybody install a hitch on their Pathfinder and can share some info with me? What kind of hitch you have, was drilling required, what tools were required, how difficult was it?

Thanks in advance.

Have you considered looking into geting it from a dealer? Seeing if thats a dealer part. (I have a frontier 2004) I got a Class 3 hitch from Reese for 98 BUX at wallymart. Any "After Market" hitches I looked at all the manuels or outer box always linked drilling with any of the imported vehicle.

from www.everythingnissan.com a class 3 hitch was

999T5-XK000 - Receiver Hitch Class III $268.75 2001 Pathfinder

I would assume it is direct bolt on bing from there. AS they have genuine nissan parts.

Thats were I plan on geting my fogs for my truck since the D**n dealer wont sell them to me.

UHaul is a nother option. There hitches are on the cheaper in quality wise vs the Reese when I looked at them. But I also have a friend that has a UHaul thats 8years old little rust and still going. No problems... so.

Ill keep my eyes open if I see anything

dealers suck all they do is sub the hitch out to some shop. i install hitches for a living, it is very easy to do there is a tow bracket on both sides of the frame. get a 17 mm. socket and a ratchet and take the brackets off the truck. sometimes on the driver side there is a cannister. get a 10mm socket and a ratchet and take three bolts off an move the canister out of the way. then take the bracket off. if you buy a draw tite or valley or hidden hitch brand hitch made for the truck it will bolt to the existing holes with no problem. the wiring you should let a hitch shop do that.
