'90 XEV6 was intermittently rolling over hard and starting, now will not rollover at all. Changed starter which did not help, can hear "Click" on right side but will not roll. Battery load tested o.k.

Any help will be greatly appreciated, at least it is a 5-speed and I can coast start it right now.

I have a 87 Truck that I changed starters on about 3 times until I found out that the contacts in a relay were not making. This relay is on the pass. side wheel well. It would click but the starter would not engage. Made a small hole in the side of relay and sprayed with electronic contact cleaner and sealed hole up silcone. Hope this helps.

its definatly the starter relay.... you can pick one up at a dealership for about 25 dollars. the same exact thing just happened to me. its a little blue box on the passenger side.

Check your wiring too. Make sure all is connected tight. Also check the ground strap coming from the battery to the vehicle. My mom's Sentra clicked like that and she had the starter replaced only to find out that the ground strap was somewhat rusted where it connects to the car. Cleaned it up, reconnected it and never had a problem with that since.
