96 pathfinder using 98 altima factory cd/cassete, but no sound: Help

Hi all,

I just purchased a cd/cassette (non-bose) factory unit from a 98 Altima for my 96 nissan pathfinder. When I connected, the unit comes alive with all lights and all functions seem to work. However, there is NO sound. I have no clue. My current factory unit was a single din cd player. This cd player works with sound etc.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks,
Noel.

Some of the Pathfinders have separate amplifiers. Check out Page 7 on this link.

http://www.installdr.com/InstallDocs...PDF/647029.pdf

If grounding that one wire fixes it, just make sure you find some way to switch it with the radio so the amp isn't on all the time.

Good luck!

Heath

That did it. Thank you so much. I am much relieved now. All I did was connect the pin B to pin N.

Thanks,
Noel.

I'm glad it helped! Did your old unit have a CD player? If so I have a friend who's looking for one for his Maxima...

Take care,

Heath

Hi,

Yes, my old unit is a factory CD+Radio player (non-bose, single DIN). However, this unit's bass and treb buttons are stuck. I pryied it out. So, it works, but the buttons are loose . Everything else works fine. I needed a cassette as well, so I went for this.

I would be willing to sell it in a week (just to make sure that my current unit works properly . Let me know the offer, and add shipping and I will be glad to ship it out.

Thanks,
Noel.
