More warranty questions?

What has to be done to maintain the warranty on a new car? Do you need to take it in for the factory recommended maintanence? Do you even have to change the oil to keep the warranty( I do all the time, just wondering) assuming it doesnt run dry? If the work has to be done, can you do it yourself and keep records? Is that good enough?
