I realize I've asked about this before, but I have yet to receive a response. However, with new people always joining the board, eventually I'll find someone who has come across this issue...
Now that the cold weather is back, the speedo on our 92 Pathfinder rattles when first starting to drive. Once it warms up, it goes away (the rattle, not the speedo..

). In the past, I've taken the speedo head out in an attempt to pull the cable and lube it. However, the cable does not appear to come out this way. It seems to be accessible only from inside the engine compartment, bolted to the fire wall. Due to difficulty accessing these bolts, I have never pulled this off.
Should I make an effort to pull the cable, or does this sound like something else.
Thanks for the help.
P.S. On my '86 Silverado, this happens, I pull the speedo head, pull out the cable, apply the graphite lube - problem solved. Little trickier here, I guess.
