The rear deflector on our '92 SE has been on the vehicle since we got it in '98. I believe it was a dealer option - looks good. This is the first SUV I've ever driven, so I don't know what the rear window would look like if we didn't have it. The window stays quite clean, except when we have light, fluffy snow sitting on the vehicle. Then the down-draft causes the snow to collect on the window. I would guess that the rear-mounted spare tire also effects air patterns behind the vehicle.
