Heyyaa peeps just curious if they make like a cold air intake for the 93+ pathfinders? Lemme know.
I am wondering the same thing. I may also want to fabricate one my self, what do ya think? Does anyone know of any plans floating around the net? How hard is it to accomplish?

Hey I sorda fabricated one one my 94 se 4x4 I used two inch tubining which I bought at autozone and installed a high flow air intake filter made by Matrix ( they're cheap and work just as good as any other except for K&n I suppose) any how I placed the filter direcly behind the drivers side headlight and removed the plastic that covers the gap once you close the hood your left with a decent amount of free flowing cold air going straight into the filter, the faster your moving (i.e freeway the more air)I got great freeway gas mileage but city driving however I think I got worst mileage than the way it was, Also If you want to try and purchase a pre-fabricated system try stillen at (714)540-9154 or (866)275-1295 one of those two number aught to help.

Thanks for the input green devil. What do you attribute the crappy in city mileage too after the modification? Is it heat soak?
Also is 2 inch pipe the recommended diameter for our intakes? Could a larger diameter be used?
I do think a few issues can be causing poorer fuel economy. I found the exact same thing when I did this on my other car. Remember:
- The mass air flow sensor was designed and calibrated with a stock intake system. Any change in the stock intake system will alter the air flow through the intake stream. This may negatively affect your MAF sensor and cause poor driveability.
- The stock intake system is very good at isolating the engine from breathing hot underhood air. There is a reason why no modern intake system resembles a "cold air intake". Most "cold air intakes" are really "warm air intakes" because they're not properly plumbed to the outside air.
- Also, the stock intake system is very good at keeping water out of the engine. If you do any driving in large puddles or ever go off-road, consider that an open element air filter will allow large amounts of water into the engine given the opportunity.
Nothing in the aftermarket world is a given, either positively or negatively. I don't think there is a single cause for the poorer fuel mileage or driveability you may see. The above factors may have something to do with it though.
